Introducing Luna Bea
Words by Ella Copping
“She is a woman, never a girl. She’s a woman of strength, integrity, kindness, wit and, above all, she knows her own mind.”
Introducing our newest collection of couture bridal accessories from the exquisitely beautiful, Luna Bea!
With her roots in high fashion and fine art, Luna Bea is a luxurious British bridal label creating delicate hand made pieces for women who have their own sense of unique style and self.
Founded by the exceedingly talented Lou Simmonds, Luna Bea was created after the London based creative received numerous private commissions from designers, artists and industry insiders wanting something reflecting their own unique style for their bridal looks, they knew they could trust Lou to deliver just this!
Each accessory is a one-off. With couture-like details, using some of the most gorgeous silks and finest materials out there, her pieces are true heirlooms to be treasured forever and long after your wedding day. As a designer, consultant and maker for over 12 years to high profile clients, quality, design and craftsmanship are integral to Lou’s process. Her work is characterised by its exquisite blending of technique, sensual texture and unique structures while seamlessly combining heritage techniques with a modern aesthetic and thinking.
We would describe her style as timeless, well-considered and feminine with a sense of chic simplicity, perfect for all of you fashion-forward brides looking for wedding accessories that will really stand out without pulling focus from your bridal beauty.
Not only will these pieces make you look beautiful but they will leave you conscious clear as well. Luna Bea is extremely passionate about sustainability and ethical practices, while still delivering highly skilled couture pieces.
Using carefully selected materials such as ethical gold, natural pearls and other ethically sourced material they can create a brand that is beautiful not only for you but for the planet!
Even their lovely packaging is 100% plastic-free and every purchase of a Luna Bea product will get a baby tree planted by the wonderful people at one tree planted. Lou believes that there shouldn’t be a gap in quality, ethics and design from high fashion to bridal – we couldn’t agree more!
Her work has been featured in many editorial campaigns and renowned publications, including French Vogue (so you know its the chicest of chic) as well as building a reputation within both the fashion and bridal industry as being THE ultimate must-have in wedding day accessories.
All the pieces have been made gently and with thoughtful intent in small batches all produced and created in the UK. Every single flower and every tiny element that makes up the design is drawn and cut by hand. Nothing is mass-produced and that is what we adore about it. As a bride, you know that when you adorn yourself with a Luna Bea bridal accessory the morning of your wedding that no one in the entire world has a piece the same – it is unique, just like you.
Luna Bea Styling inspiration
Fleur x Idol
We love this pairing of Luna Bea’s statement floral Fluer hair clip with the sleek chicness of Rime Arodaky’s Idol dress. The large flowers will add a touch of feminine drama to this sexy 90’s silhouette.
Meadow x Lauper
Lauper’s beautifully delicate embroidery works perfectly with the etherial floral construction of meadow. Creating a wonderfully laid-back chicness to your bridal look that will work perfectly for spring weddings.
Meadow Crescent Comb x Enola
Rime’s Enola dress is a real stand-out with it’s plunging neckline and gorgeous back detailing, we love the idea of pairing this striking look with the Meadow Crescent Comb. The combination the two will give off an eye-catching and daring fashion bridal look that is sure to stand out.
When trying on the beautifully handcrafted pieces, we advise wearing a light coloured top, ivory, white or as close as to the colour of your dress and similar makeup that you will be wearing on the day.
This way you can get a really good idea of your look and take the opportunity to start thinking about styling options for hair.
