Under the golden Mallorcan sun, Gemma and Matt’s wedding unfolded like a story from the pages of a bridal magazine. Gemma, a dear friend of mine, discovered her dream gown at The Mews Bridal — Cassiopee by Caroline Takvorian — a show-stopping design with statement sleeves and a sculpted, fitted silhouette that moved like poetry in the island breeze. Set among rustic stone walls, olive groves, and endless Mediterranean skies, every detail felt effortlessly chic yet deeply personal, creating a celebration that was at once editorial, intimate, and unforgettable.
How did you meet your Groom?
We were introduced by our mutual friend Lauren, the owner of The Mews Bridal. I’ve known Lauren for over 20 years, so I trusted her judgement completely – and thankfully, she absolutely nailed it!
How did you come across the Mews?
Ever since Lauren opened The Mews and I went to visit her in Notting Hill, I just knew that one day I’d be back for my own wedding dress. I’ve followed The Mews journey from the very beginning, so there was never any question – I was always going to be a Mews Bride.
Tell us about finding your perfect wedding dress?
I always knew I wanted a dress with sleeves and a low back, but I never imagined finding anything as perfect as the Cassiopee dress by Caroline Takvorian. The moment I tried it on, it just felt so ‘me’. I was completely obsessed with the detailing on the back and the sleeves, and we added an extra long train which sat so beautifully. It was truly my dream dress and absolutely perfect for our Mallorcan wedding.
Where did your wedding day take place? Was there any themes or
inspiration behind your day?
We got married in Mallorca, nestled in the heart of the Tramuntana mountains. Mallorca is such a special place for us both, and I’d always known I wanted to get married abroad – luckily, it didn’t take much convincing for Matt! The moment we visited Finca Comassema, we were completely blown away and nothing else compared. Surrounded by mountains with the most incredible views, it was the perfect, jaw-dropping backdrop for our ceremony. Our inspiration for the day came directly from the venue itself. We wanted the flowers and table décor to complement the natural surroundings, and the team at Wedding More brought our vision to life beautifully. As dinner was served during sunset, the hanging string lights and abundance of candles created the most romantic, magical atmosphere.
What did he wear?
Matt wore black tie with a white jacket from Suit Supply – it was classic, timeless, and perfect for a Mallorcan wedding.
What was your favourite detail of the day?
Honestly, this is such a hard one because I loved everything. The moment the doors opened and the sun appeared for our ceremony felt like absolute magic (perfect timing!). Seeing all our friends and family chatting, laughing and dancing together was so special. And then there was the party — we put a lot
of thought into choosing the band and it was hands down the best decision we made. They completely brought the energy, filled the dance floor all night, and our guests still talk about them now.
What advice would you give to a bride about finding the perfect dress?
Go with an open mind and don’t get too caught up in trends – the most important thing is finding a dress that feels like you. Take your time and don’t feel rushed into making a decision. I tried on some absolutely stunning dresses, but they just didn’t feel quite right for me. When you find the one that does, you’ll know immediately.
Words of wedded wisdom?
Enjoy every single moment, even the little ones that feel chaotic – they make the best memories! Don’t stress the small stuff and don’t worry about getting everything perfect. Oh and remember to take a step back and enjoy it all – the day goes by so fast!
